Each day Scottish Water delivers 1.38 billion litres of clear, fresh drinking water and removes 929 million litres of waste water, treats it and returns it safely to the environment.  Its services are used daily by 2.5 million households and 150,000 business premises.  Over the six year period from 2015 to 2021, Scottish Water will invest more than £3.9 billion to further improve drinking water quality, protect the environment and support the economy.
